About Mai the Melody

Hi family... My name is Aqeelah Maisha El-Amin Lair. I am the owner of Mai Miracles Llc. and the proud mother of 3 gorgeous children. I'm originally from Louisiana. I have been a Texan for about 11 years. I attend Greater Faith Church in Bryan, TX under Pastor Kelon R. Dalton. After a beautiful Christmas day with family in 2011, I woke up to devastating news that my grandpa had passed. Although he had coverage, it was nowhere near enough to protect the family from having to fundraise while grieving in order to bury him. This was my first time recognizing the importance of appropriate coverage for your final expenses. This realization grew into a passion to help people avoid fundraising and go fund me funerals. I embarked on my journey of studying to get my Life & Health insurance license in 2018.

Also in 2018 I almost died. Just a couple of months before I passed my insurance test, I encountered a very rare sickness called rhabdomyolysis. With this sickness basically, your muscles breakdown and start releasing this hormone into your body in toxic amounts. The hormone, CK being released at those levels, attacks your body and kills your organs. I was in the hospital for over a week after being told I was at 100% good health. I got sent home twice, because they said I was good! Had my family listened to the doctors, my organs would have shut down on me in the comfort of my own home. Thank God they didn't listen and got another doctor's opinion!

When I came out of that experience the last week of April in 2018, I was extremely different! As I continued my journey, I realized that I had many underrated and ignored passions connected to purpose reemerging unexpectedly. I have always been a poet and a writer. It wasn't until this near death experience that most of the writings began to be transformed into full songs and inspirational music. The songs are a compilation of prayers, encouragement, confessionals, and so much more. I go by the stage name of 'Mai the Melody'.  The first single dropped May 22, 2024 and once a month you can expect to see new releases hitting the major music platforms.  

I want to share the fact that I didn't have any type of protection in place for my kids at that time of the near death experience. I would have been leaving them destined to struggle! I would have not had anything in place to help them prepare for their futures! I would have ultimately not been protecting my family! And it was a really close call! So I thank the Lord that I'm alive and well! My children are now more than protected. I have enormous passion to help as many people as possible with affordable life insurance as it pertains to my clients' needs.
